OK today I will talk a little about particle physics, and Schrodinger's Cat
There are probably many people out there who have a stronger grasp on the subject than I do and will find many errors in this short note so be kind.
Schrodinger was a scientist dealing with quantum physics. He had a theory that by simply observing particles we influence what they are. To illustrate this point he came up with an example.
Suppose you have a cat, you put this cat into a box and into this box you put a vial of poison gas with a radioactive isotope on top. The question is does the isotope decay and fall into the vial and poison the cat or not. At this point the cat is neither dead nor alive. You can not prove one way or the other without observing the result. The cat exists in two states untill observed.
Now this is a very simplified version of the actual story however its the only one I am familiar with. Some scientists feel that this is evidence of paralel realities. Theoretical scientists are currently attempting to come up with a "theory of everything", Unified String Theory and all. One of the great things about theoretical sciences is you can perform experiments without actualy performing experiments (mind games). There has been (even back in Einstein's time) theories that support the possibilty of time travel. In fact Kurt Goedel had used Einstein's formulas to prove it possible (before Einstine died) and A scientist named Kerr has used his formulas to show that travel through a black hole is possisble. But more on that at a later date (if you want me to). Suffice it to say quantum theory is very strange. If you feel like reading more about this stuff try www.mkaku.org and I may even write some more here. (It is my journal after all)
Whats that I just heard the bell ring your dismissed.
ps I would like to thank Futuredirt for his input to this article.
